About Valley Tree Help

Valley Tree Help is a local information and referral website for tree removal, tree trimming and palm tree trimming in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas: McAllen, Edinburg, Harlingen and the communities around them.

What we do

  1. Help you understand your trees. Our guides answer the questions Valley homeowners ask most: what tree work costs, how to tell if a tree is dangerous, how to trim palms without hurting them, who to call about branches on power lines and how to get ready for hurricane season.
  2. Connect you with a local provider. When you call the number on this site, your call goes to an independent tree service that works in your area.

What we don't do

We are not a tree company. We don't remove, trim or treat trees, and we don't hold contractor or pesticide licenses or insurance for tree work. The provider you talk to is responsible for the quote, the work, any permits or licenses and their insurance. See how it works.

How our content is researched

  • Official and well-known sources first. Our information comes from sources such as Texas law, the National Weather Service, NOAA, Texas A&M and its Forest Service, the University of Florida's palm experts, the International Society of Arboriculture, the Texas Department of Agriculture and the cities we cover. Each guide lists its sources at the end.
  • Local, not generic. We write about the Valley's palms, storms, power companies and city rules, not about snow and maple trees.
  • Safety first. We never suggest climbing trees, cutting near power lines or topping trees.
  • Prices are ranges, not quotes. Cost figures come from published cost surveys and are labeled as typical ranges. Only the provider can give you a price for your job.
  • Reviewed regularly. We review every guide at least every three months and update the date at the top when something changes.
  • No paid reviews or ratings. We don't publish reviews, testimonials or star ratings.
